We also updated our Big Tree to match the season! Check it out!
I had the kids use their fingers and hands to color in the green of the wreath. I sprinkled green glitter over the wreaths while they were still wet. When waiting for the paint to dry, I had the kids put together their reindeer! (For the youngest tots, we spread this project over two days to match their attention spans..)
Then we glued it all together!
It turned out GREAT and the kids loved seeing the finished product! Best of all, we are using this project as one of our window displays for Christmas for all the neighborhood to see! I'll post the finished window when it's, well, finished! =)

I had the kids smear glue all over the construction paper with their hands. They then "squished" their snowflakes onto the paper. I was flying by the seat of my pants during this project, so I took each of their hands and squirted the glue straight onto their hands and told them, "Ok. Now bang on your snowflake like a drum!" So our little at-home schoolroom was filled with - BANG BANG BANG giggle giggle giggle BANG BANG!
I controlled the glitter sprinkling for the sake of my schoolroom, but had the kids add their own magic. I told them, "It won't work properly if we don't sing!" So we sang, "Let it Snow! Let it Snow! Let it Snow!" while I sprinkled the glitter. Dramatic pause before the magic was revealed - then we knocked off the excess glitter and we could see the end result! We all loved the results!
Not bad for an On-the-Fly project! =)
