Trying to save most of my turkey projects for when we're closer to Thanksgiving, I came up with this Corny Fall Project! I created this Corn Template so the kids could make their own decorative "Indian" corns for our school room! I didn't know how it would turn out in the end, but I'm very pleased with the results.
This project was tested on ages 8, 6, 3, 2, and 21 months and the kids had a blast!
With the younger kids, we covered color recognition, showing them the difference between brown and tan. We also talked about eating corn.. yummy!
Once I had the templates made, it took about 20 minutes from prep to finish. The kids loved seeing how the corn pieces fit together and were tickled pink when their parents came and they got to show off their artwork!
Parent friendly... Check! Child-approved... check!
This month we are going to be doing a lot of Thanksgiving and Autumn projects, some new and some old. So keep an eye out!
